The first of the proposals that our association intends to deal with a subject little known to the general public: the Middle Ages the Roman Empire.
When you think of the eternal city because our thoughts turn immediately to the ancient world. Yet the city played a prominent role in the Middle Ages, first as papal seat.
To get started, so our trip to the knowledge of a city "secret" as we go to the medieval track in the complex and layered urban fabric of the city all those traces left by history and start putting them together to have a correct picture.
To make a historically and scientifically based reconstruction of city life at that time so we have to reconsider all the elements that made it up, one at a time.
The first, perhaps most obviously, we want to draw your attention to was the defensive system: the towers.
The Middle Ages, Roman shows over a period full of turbulent events. Precisely for this purpose is realized a need defense very local, almost family, with sets of towers that dot the landscape of the city, especially from the moment they begin to assume the function of status symbol of power and performance for families dominant.
